Wordpress sites need regular attention and maintenance! Unfortunately, not all of them get it when they need it. By the time a client approaches a web developer with a list of changes the Wordpress backend - file version, themes and plugins, have missed multiple updates.
I first test all updates on a local server to make sure the site backend stands up to the process. If all is good I then migrate the site to the host servers of the client's choice. At the same time, the current site plugin package is evaluated for future goals and any current problems that might need solving.
Other common maintenance work includes custom styling via CSS, security hardening and adding accessibility for screen readers and applying Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) standards.
